Helen A. Sheckler, 82 of Lambertville, MI, and formerly of Toledo, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017, in her home.  Born, September 9, 1934, in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of William and Adeline (Whitehead) Warren.  She was a 1952 graduate of Whitmer High School, and then went to work for Surface Combustion for 3 years until she married Denzil (Denny) E. Sheckler on January 3. 1955 in Angola, IN.  Helen thrived raising her 3 children and spending summers at their Marble Lake Cottage. She was active in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and P.T.A. at Longfellow Elementary School. Helen later returned to work alongside her mother at McCartney Colonial Florist in Toledo and then retired from Nil Gallagher, Inc. She enjoyed her bunco club friendships, water aerobics group, bowling, and rescuing stray animals. Helen and Denny enjoyed a lifelong love of travel and together they saw the world.

Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, Denny; children, William (Betty) Sheckler, Stacy (William) Sondergeld and Greg (Jody) Sheckler; brother, Robert (Lynne) Warren; grandchildren, Jeremy, James, Scott, Katherine, Steven and Helen Grace; great grandson, Mason James.

Visitation will be from 1-3 pm, Saturday, January 7, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.   www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
